i had fb onsite last week. i did finish two problems with complete bug free code in the two coding rounds. the interviews were happy and said this will work. design round was a standard problem which i designed well and could answer all the questions being asked by the interviewer. we talked about apis, high level block diagram, database design, use case flow for four of the major use cases and scalability numbers, availability, fault tolerance. everything looked decent for e4 role. behavioural round was good as well. the recruiter told me that they will contact me the next day itself because i had other offers. but, there was no response. i emailed him after three days. even after that he didn't respond. not sure what is going on. i have finished 700+ lc problems and pretty confident about the answers to the two coding rounds. design round might not be perfect but I'm anyways aiming for e4. not sure what is going on. i did mention to the recruiter that i have five other offers including FANG offer(s). do they ghost like that? what is the standard turn around time? edit: i know plenty of companies who don't bother to respond to rejected candidates. one of the purpose of this post is to know if Facebook is one of them.
I am also in same boat. It has been more than a week and no response.
Interviewed fb Thursday two weeks ago, recruiter called the following Monday.
Said what? Got it or no?
Said moving to offer review process. Then got updates every steps every couple days :)
It's hard to say. First of all people are not around at this time so feedback collection may be incomplete. Then seasoned interviewers will make you feel great even if you didn't do well, especially true for system design and behavior. With 2 coding rounds cracked and no flags for the other 2 you should be able to get at least L4 though, so it's likely just holidays. Are your coding solutions optimal?
Behavioural round was taken by a 2 yoe lady. But design round was done by a manager. And yes he was pretty knowledgeable. For coding, One was dp question O N2 Other was directly from Leetcode - did it linear complexity Other I did with linear complexity then a follow up on top of that. We still had 10 minutes left so he told me that I did a great job and started telling me where other candidates were trapped
Sounds great. Hopefully just holidays😉. Good luck buddy!
Did you answer 2 questions on each coding round?
Yes. With few minutes remaining. One round had 6-7 minutes left Other had 10-12 minutes left
700+lc, are you chinese or indian?
Just because you think you did well does not actually mean you did well. It's the holidays, you just have to wait.
Agree
Hard to say. Sometimes the interviewers don't give feedback that quickly so there is nothing the recruiter can do. It is the holidays.
Only think is that my other offers are going to expire soon.
Your recruiter might have taken PTO for the holidays, I wouldn't be too concerned if you performed as well as you described.
Interviewed need to give feedback and then pass two approvals ... it just takes time Took them a week and a half in non holiday times to get back to me

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager

Which company is best to have on your resume?
1) it's the holidays 2) high confidence interviewers tend to do less well compared to humble candidates 3) good luck!
And judging me by this post is humility?
I'm not judging you nor do I know anything about you :) Just sharing that with almost all interview experiences the candidate that think they did "ok" tend to do better than they think and the candidates that think they were "amazing" tend to do not as well as they think. This may or may not apply to you, just a broad generalization. Again give it some additional time given the season and good luck.
