I had a phone interview for product manager role with a facebook product manager. It has been slightly over a week but I have no response from the recruiter. I did send a follow up email asking for updates. The recruiter was usually responsive until the process leading to interview but post interview this lackadaisical cadence is surprising. Wondering if Facebook has any policy like Amazon where the phone screen response is fed back to candidate withiin 3 days max. As well besides being busy are there any logical reasons for not responding (e.g. pipeline of candidates that are stack ranked and only certain top percentile brought onsite?).
Thank you. BTW, when you say ‘waiting on candidates first’ do you mean even for calling onsite there is a stack rank genre consideration?
fb is famous for their efficiency, assume reject after two days.
In a general scenario I would agree but my experience has been after more than a week from phone interview they came back with positive result (in a previous interview experience). In any case not keeping hopes high. All being said and done, a recruiter at a company that has been touted as efficient cannot drop the ball like this. A recruiter promptly keeping the candidate in loop is at the very least the professional and the right thing to do. Why would FB maintain a lesser bar for a recruiter compared to their engineering org is not rational.
Did you ever get a response back? I'm going through a similar experience now.
Same exp — did either of you hear back?
Based on my experience it's not a good sign. They either waiting to collect more feedback or interviewing others and waiting on them first
