i really thought the interview went well, but after following up i didnt get the role in their operations department. why do company’s choose not to share feedback?
They ghosted me a few years ago, so don’t expect to be treated well. But in general only Netflix provides feedback which is usually just a terse: you were good at X but not very good at Y.

If you had a company with thousands of employees, would you allocate time and resources to another task of providing feedback on top of all the other things involved in hiring. This also doesn't include the possibility of getting sued based on the feedback you may provide.
Possibility of getting sued is just a boomer risk management meme. It is more of the earlier: mostly up to the recruiters if they feel like giving it, provided some boomer policy preventing it is not in place
