Linkedin offer

Is Linkedin a good place to move to from Microsoft? Im currently SDE 2 in Microsoft and im confident i would make it to senior this Feb. I havent interviewed at other places yet. But i am guessing the offer would expire soon after its made. Should I interview elsewhere and drop the offer or should I accept it? wanted to get some thoughts from you all on whether its a good idea to move or if I should drop the offer and keep interviewing elsewhere.

ex-msft, best decision of my career was to join LinkedIn. comps (stocks) & benefits (free food, better 401k Match, $2k per year towards gym membership or kids preschool, etc) are good, but the culture & autonomy & transformation opportunity was the real reason. Even if I leave LinkedIn, it will be a special place for me for many years to come. Glad I made the move.
(note, this was well before Microsoft bought us out.. no idea what's in store ahead)

  • Other than free food there are no better perks the comp is same. Totally not true that the comp is better. The decision should be made based on why are you wanting to move out of Msft and also which team you are going to move to in lnkd.

  • If you come here, your connections with Microsoft could be an asset post acquisition. Naturally, if you make the move, don't burn any bridges with your current colleagues. I would always say that, but especially in this situation.

  • Thank you all for the inputs! Much appreciated! The main reason I want to move is because i got too comfortable there and hence wasn't finding the motivation to be excited about what im doing. I feel a change in company would push me. But at the same time i want to be fairly sure that the next company i go to would provide that opportunity to grow. Since this was the first company I interviewed and was fortunate to get an offer, im not sure if I should interview further and risk not getting more offers or if I should accept the current offer.
