The 🔴 aka TrackPoint on most ThinkPad laptops are failing — where the mouse simply stops working.
There’s a major issue that has been a problem for over a year with no support in the Lenovo moderated forums. There’s a community developed firmware hack, but it isn’t ‘sticky’ and the bug returns frequently (only other fix is a full restart).
Maybe there someone on here that can flag this issue internally to someone in Lenovo Engineering and/or Product.
Please don’t let Thinkpad become dog 💩 like other windows machines. Be a good steward of the brand.

Have you heard of DaVinci Resolve?
Thanks for highlighting the issue.
I'm from Lenovo product managemdnt, but on a software side. I will try to reach concerned teams and will update .
The new ones are 10 pages long, but have zero extra info; it's environmentally wasteful to have so much extra space to fit exact same info; I'm sure some people still print those PDFs.
Someone made a fix @ https://broken-trackpoint.com — which reverse engineers a firmware patch and calls some APIs which temporarily fix the bug across models (noted in the forum). Engineering can use this to isolate the problem.
Here are the impacted models (at minimum), scraped from a forum post:
T14 | T14s | T15 | T15 Gen 2 | T15p | | P14S Gen 1 | P14S Gen 2 (Intel + AMD) | P15 | P15s | P15s Gen 2 | P15g | P15v | P17 | P53 | X1 Extreme Gen 2 | X1 Yoga Gen 5 | T490
