Hello friends!
Confluent is offering Staff 1 level. I am currently L65 at Microsoft. Any idea about what L65-66 at Microsoft should map to at Confluent? Would Staff 1 be under levelling?
Which level would a Staff 1 from Confluent land at if they interview at Google / Facebook? What about the other way round (G/F -> C)?
Will be receiving TC numbers after team match.
Current TC: 420K
YoE: 13

Anyone telling you that staff1 is l6 is either lying (Confluent recruiters) or have no clue/basing it on a minor sample or past mapping (few Confluent engs)
Look at your first post and the most recent one. You seem to be changing your tune.
I don't understand how you are interpreting the levels.fyi data currently reflected for confluent. L6 level on levels.fyi@confluent doesn't necessarily mean l6@g/f. Also, salary band for staff@confluent clearly point to a typical l5 pay range.
@op I am sure you know how your interview went. Don't get carried away by what recruiters say nor get carried away by what some confluent engineers perceive their levels to be. You are 65@msft which means that you have been in the industry long enough to know that vast majority of engs arent aware of how the levels are benchmarked. Typical L6 positions pay 550k+. I will just leave it there
