https://people.com/travel/hero-pilot-lands-plane-in-corn-field-after-bird-strike-saving-all-226-passengers-on-board/ apparently a bird strike can be fatal for a plane thanks to physics. shouldnt this be a serious problem ? birds are everywhere and unpredictable. how do airplanes avoid hitting them ?

For the most part they just try to make them strong enough to survive them. You can't really avoid a bird if you're an airplane. One of my family members does contracts for airline companies shooting bird carcasses at planes for testing
Put AI controlled bird shooting guns on each plane
