Twitter engineering bar is much higher. Amazon has many votes because there is a larger population of Amazonians who have a large ego or are insecure about their ability

I thought Bloomberg would win compared to others.

  • Amazon, no question. They are growing at a significant pace on an unprecedented scale. While Twitter has had a low growth for years now. The stock price correlates to growth over longer durations. So compensation wise you should be better off with Amazon. And when it comes to career growth and learnings, I am pretty sure the culture of Amazon would ensure a rapid growth if you can gel well in that culture. I am pretty sure the horror stories on blind represent an extremely small portion of overall experiences.

With Twitter, while your initial offer compared to Amazon may be equivalent; you should not expect a significant equity valuation growth. You will be surrounded by smart people for sure but I really doubt you will be operating at your maximum limit, so from that perspective the growth will be somewhat limited.

I had more fun on a niche team at Amazon. Higher TC with superior WLB and engineering at Twitter. Either way, it's team dependent.
