The only friends I have to have done part-time or night classes are ones that cannot afford to go out of their current job and/or were married with kids at home.
Unless you have ambitions to be the CEO of a Fortune 100, don't waste your time and money on a top-tier school going full time. An executive MBA at your local university will be well worth the money spent. And real-life experience while you are working is invaluable. In most cases, people don't care where you went to school - only that you did and graduated.
Depends, what are your goals, what is your family situation, and do you need an income stream while in school? I have 3 kids, needed my existing income stream to fund myself, and wanted to make a career pivot. I opted for an EMBA at a top 10 global program and I could not be happier. There are tradeoffs, however. You will not go as deep in academic approaches to problem solving and the rigor that goes along with a full time MBA. With an EMBA program you will receive on high quality instruction, leverage the collective wisdom of a room full of executive-level cross functional peers, and your own experience to solve real-world problems. Skip think about part-time mba imho.
Why would you not consider part time MBA? There are great part time MBA programs offered by top 5 business schools in the country, and they are just as prestigious with less opportunity cost. What do you guys think?
