Hey Everyone, I’m planning to apply for a software engineer role in Google at their New York office. I’m currently living in Sydney, Australia. I was just wondering what my chances are of landing an interview since I’m not in USA and Google would have to sponsor me if I do get the offer?

    Transferring from Google, Sydney to Google, NYC will be a lot easier.
    NYC and Sydney offices are both amazing. Awesome locations + good mix of product and infra teams.

    • If you get screwed on your initial equity grant there is no recourse. I’d try for the US position and then move to Austrailia

      That’s what I was planning initially. But curious if I would even land an interview since I’m not in USA. Do they even consider candidates that apply from overseas?
