Hi, I will be having a final interview with Salesforce soon and I have been given a potential salary range. The bottom of the range matches the initial offer I got from GrubHub but the upper bound is much higher than what GrubHub might be able to match.
My concern with Salesforce is that I did not have a good experience with their interviews and that makes me question what the work environment would be like.
The technical rounds were very focused on software testing and front end knowledge & also involved creating front ends using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
No other company has asked me these kinds of questions.
The design round was again focused on writing the JavaScript for an app inside a Google doc and then writing the backend API endpoints and backend logic to fetch data from tables and sending it back as a response etc.
Since I already had a offer from GrubHub I was not to concerned about this role anymore and was very nonchalant in the design round, I don't think I did that well personally, but I got a reply from the recruiter that the feedback is positive and that they want to schedule a final round with the director.
This makes me think they just want a code monkey for software testing and front end work, even though the position is mentioned as full stack.
I have about 2 years of work experience, but it's pretty junior level. So I am interested in working at a company where I can learn and grow as an engineer. So with that in mind, what's it like working at Salesforce in terms of their engineering quality, potential for career growth, WLB and TC.
I also wanted to know if it's possible to switch to one of Salesforce's subsidiaries after joining like tableau, slack etc and which ones are considered the best.
EDIT:-
It would be really helpful if people who vote can provide some reasons for their choice
GrubHub initial offer:
135K TC
Salesforce initial range:
135K to 180K TC

Don't join if you're new grad. You will not learn as much.
Take risks with a good startups or work hard on leet code and land a fang offer
There is so much life ahead to grow in career especially after marriage and kids.
As a youngster, now is the time to self improve, get fit, practice a healthy lifestyle, date a lot, experience a variety of things in life when you are young and full of energy and see where you want to go in life.
So, a good wlb company is perfect for a new grad. You can always switch gears and grind for TC later in life if that's really what you want at that point of life.
Also that risk tolerance, you are unlikely to take risky offers when you have a family. But without kids and family, I am more willing to take risks
If you can juggle with that limitation of age and family responsibility, your advice is very ideal for younger folks.
But like he said, life is short, enjoy and get laid.
If you don't like it interview after 3 months and say not a culture fit.
