Applied to the link below but had some questions about the role/

How does #AWS / #Amazon determine location? Do they ask for preferences or it is entirely based on head count/needs?
Anyone know what the pay range is for this/other TechU roles?
What is good to prep? It says they review on rolling basis so it is probably a good time to ramp up.

Pay will be 135k not negotiable . Likely remote for the first half of 6 months training. but they want you to be close ish to Seattle or HQ2.

Prep on topics about storage, servers, security, database, analytics, ML, networking etc. just the basics but they want depth on 1-2 areas

Also they hire in cohorts, so start date would be Jan or July

Edit* sorry I didn’t read the posting too closely. They are opening more locations for cohorts to be located, but they will want you to be in person ONLY if Amazon decides to change their corporate policy. Current cohort going though is a remote one due to omicron uncertainty

      OP
      Is that base or TC?

Would doing something like the cloud practitioner cert be worth while as study prep?

      135k TC. Likely 100k base.

Cloud prac can be worthwhile, but if you’re tight on time, I would recommend actually studying IT topics and how they are done traditionally. Interviewers won’t expect you to know aws, which is why there is 6 months of training
