Tableau is shit, but it’s a billion dollar company. ThoughtSpot is on their way up in the analytics industry. You guys just sound like haters.

  • The impact is small (whilst unfortunate) and almost all organizations will be impacted by covid in some way. As much as leaders didn't want to furlough anyone they provided a lot of transparency into the process, financials, future outlook and importantly, with empathy, concern and respect for people impacted. Many of the founders placed personal phonecalls and helping to find new roles. I personally found this extremely heartwarming and it's a million times better than other company RIFs handling which I have been exposed to. Cost containment is real for every business and TS is no exception.

Here's the review btw from Glassdoor that was deleted:

      "Unethical leadership and total liars"
      Current Employee - Account Executive

      Negative Outlook

I have been working at ThoughtSpot full-time for more than a year

      Pros
They offer the Calm app for free.

      Cons
Leadership promised a changed culture from abrupt terminations and layoffs. They had a terrible reputation and the culture they created was full of anxiety. They stood up at the company meeting in 2019 and said they were not going to continue this type of behavior, they reiterated this during several all hands meetings. Then in early 2020 they laid off a bunch of sales reps, some of which even hit their quotas. Fast forward to COVID times they promised no layoffs for 2 quarters and said they had lots of contingency plans to reduce costs elsewhere and said we are family and they are not going to lay-off anyone. 4 weeks later they laid off over 10% of the company, with no warning, nothing. Of course times are tough for every company but what kind of leadership promises no layoffs and then changes their mind in just a few weeks? It’s the same kind of leadership that has been dishonest since the start. The same leadership that hires their unqualified family members to the company, the same leadership that awards “partner of the year” to a company owned by their brother... the CRO’s brother owns a partner company who gets awarded an insane amount of business and he probably even gets kickbacks.

You won't find many laid off employees talk about it on LinkedIn. Possible gag order.

People are talking about it, just like everyone else who has been laid off. I have connections and people are being honest. Maybe you just don’t know enough people.
