I am in a funky situation right now, i started interviewing after missing out on CTR, and got an offer from Apple. When I told my manager about this, he told me that he was feeling bad for not able to include me for CTR and was working for an out of cycle promo in the background and it got approved by HR the same day I got Apple's offer!! He also wants to counter the offer from Apple (still waiting for those numbers from Intel). Not sure how to proceed with this :( any suggestions?

Intel has been giving pretty strong counters, so I would look for them to at least match the offer over 3-4 years. Based on my counter, Intel will match the cash portion as closely as they can without blowing up the grade/compa structure and use a large RSU grant to try and make up the rest. Be aware that the RSU grant is only a one-time thing, so your refreshers will still be weak compared to Apple. You'll want to evaluate if that 4 year cliff is acceptable for you. I chose not to take my counter partially due to the cliff among other factors.
I have 10 yoe
And How are refreshers at MSFT for similar level?
