Dear All

If someone gets hired in Amazon so u expect
RSU offered every 4 yrs. What happens after 1st year. Pls explain. How vesting works for RSU?

      You get a signing bonus that's paid as often as base to make up the difference, so comp is the same over 4 years. I personally like the comp structure of the first two years more than the latter two. Way less volatility. The fetishization for stock comp on Blind is stupid af

    • Right, my friend got some ridiculous signing bonus for TWO YEARS plus max base ($160k) as L5 a year ago and i told him to survive two years (basically $300k cash average each of the two years)

    Every year during OLR (amazons perf review) your new Total Comp Target (RCT is determined. If your projected Total Comp (which takes your salary and any already awarded grants into consideration) is below your TCT then you will be given an additional grant which vests every 6 months following a 1 year cliff. The 1 year cliff may be ignored in special cases or during promo when the new projected TC falls below the band minimum.

    they front load the RSU value as a cash bonus instead during your first two years. basically they don't want to give you as much stock but TC is the same
