Even in the remote case, they take approvals to match; could there be toxicity down the line, no hikes, etc. Has anyone experienced this, stayed back on same counter offer and had it happy. Lot depends on value add too. But perhaps value add, to some extent lies in the eye of the beholder too.
In regards to vest, always quit after vest. But, do not let vest stop you from going to another company. Look at the entire offer, sometimes it's worth it.
