google interview

Hi i just gave my first phone screening round at Google. The recruiter emailed me after a couple of days and said I need to give another phone round. What does this mean? She couldnt share more details about the feedback because of legal reasons but said the interviewer has requested for another round. Is it bad for me? Have my chances to get selected for next rounds just went down? Super worried. Any help is highly appreciated. TIA

Google does minimum 2 phone screens before onsite.

You’re toast 🍞, don’t bother proceeding. In fact, the recruiter might call your current company as punishment for having a second phone interview.

Nope, just means the interviewer wasn't sure and wanted another person to make the decision

It is neither good nor bad. You just need to give another interview. You are not rejected yet.

Usually means interviewer didn’t get enough data in your interview. Could be something you missed or the interviewer didn’t get time to ask. Don’t worry and try your best again. This should not hurt your chances of getting the onsite
