I recently did my onsite for google cloud in sunnyvale office. I had 3 coding , 1 SD and 1 googlyness rounds. all the rounds went pretty well except one coding round. where i was just able to solve the problem. my code had bugs and i missed some edge cases. also could jot even run the test cases in the end. do I still have any chances to move to next stage? update : REJECT #google #googleinterview #googleinterviewfeedback
I did well in all except SD and got rejected. I think they expect you to Ace all rounds. Interviews are subjective so hope for best.
I also did the same in one coding round. I was rejected by hc
With 1 SD only there’s no way in hell this can be L6
That’s what I thought but recruiter mentioned that he just changed my “domain specific” interview to coding round because I worked on multiple domains. He also mentioned that I will be considered for either L5 or L6 based on my interview performance.
It should be L5 for 1SD round
Op, give us an update when you hear back from recruiter
I had the same in one coding round (solved it sub-optimally + had 2 bugs, but explained optimal solution) and got an offer, although downlevel pretty hard and it was in a crappy city, so I rejected. I did learn though that when the interviewers ask you to "run through the code with an example", you probably have a bug. Not a diversity candidate.
OP update?
No update yet
Before offer you have hc and team matching.
