All things being equal, which would you choose? HubSpot has the higher Blind rating but I feel like GitHub has cooler projects. I value WLB, culture, and impact over TC personally (to an extent).

I totally agree. That’s what initially motivated me to apply - working at GitHub would feel really meaningful and impactful.
And I think you confirmed my suspicion about the GitHub reviews on Blind - lots of comments about how it’s becoming too much like Microsoft, yet Microsoft has a higher overall rating on Blind. It seems those who came before the acquisition are not liking the change, but if you have the right expectations you might be ok. Thanks!

  • If you're going to go for companies with "hub" in their name, you should also have included GrubHub.

πŸ˜‚ the name similarity is coincidental. I’m in interviews loops with these two and they’re high on my list

Most GitHub projects these days are rebranded Microsoft products, there is little innovation or decisions made from the the GitHub side.

Co-pilot and codespaces seem cool though. And trying to eat into Jira's space with the planning and tracking project seems smart.

True but copilot isn’t developed at GitHub and neither is the strategy

Every company has cool and not so cool projects. It's a matter of you getting a chance to work on it when there are so many others vying for the same.

That’s an excellent point, yeah. But if the company has cool projects, you at least have the opportunity to maybe work on them. If the company has 0 cool projects 🀷
