Been doing long hours at Lab126 for almost a month. (close to 14-15 hours)

Most of the folks I work with are a lazy POS and I have to drive them to hold them accountable - adding more to my plate.

I’ve been essentially burning myself down in the process and my manager does very little to at least give me a morale boost. Should I quit this shi*ty job?

Set your own boundaries. Nobody else is going to care more about them than you are. Give them an inch…

If you work too hard, you need to get something in return - experience, money, promotion or whatever is important to you, otherwise it’s your choice , you made this decision to work more than required. Like others said, set your own boundaries, you will get surprised, nothing will change if you miss one meeting , some folks even respect you more for that ….

But it never feels like that. Everyone is looking at me to make a decision. And that takes a toll on my mental health as well

Then make a decision, what’s the problem? As long as it’s in scope of your work and responsibility, it’s fine . Don’t make decisions instead of your engineers. You need to have official / unofficial authority over your people. That’s the only one way and that’s why being at one company longer and having good relationship with your peers manager is a good thing. You need to be backed up by management. Don’t think you need to work long hours no one will appreciate it, better to learn how to manage projects/ people without direct authority - more useful skill.
