Hi! I was approached by some headhunters for Physical design and STA positions. Before I go through the interview loop, I wanted to know which BU are Broadcom are good and which ones to avoid.
Any information will be helpful.

Thank you

Which BU are they interviewing for ?
If it's STA for central engineering signoff group, then it's pretty awesome team. They don't do design but provide margins and signoff criteria for all the BUs.
It's pretty niche domain and have very smart people.

  • You will most likely get a bump in compensation at Broadcom. Network switch PD is now very lean thanks to Hock Tan so you have to be a great juggler to survive. For chip team, some engineers handle 4 blocks at the same time for advanced technology nodes (PnR, timing closure, em/ir, calibre). I think at a point when there is not enough focus to push quality results, the chip will not function and some heads will be rolling.
