I am joining a new company and have just moved to the states from Canada as a Canadian. In one of the emails that the law firm that my future company hired it says that not updating my address to USCIS within 10 days of moving is punishable by up to 30 days of jail. From some Google searches this seems to be true.
The problem is I was never asked to provide an US address throughout the process of entering USA as a Canadian. I tried to update my address with the web form that USCIS provided but it requires me to provide an old US address, which I never had.
Has anyone encountered this before?
