I want to ask if a Leave of Absence (not FMLA) is possible on H1B?

Does it affect H1B status?

I am having health issues and my boss suggested exploring Leave of Absence

    Why not FMLA which might be paid leave ? Though it does have a 1 year employment requirement with the company

      My doctor said he will not sign for FMLA. He hasn't figured what's wrong with me either. Have spent more than 20 days on his medication. No improvement. I am not sure what is going on in his mind.

    Does anyone know being on FMLA will have any impact on H-1b transfer? Paystub shows “Short Term Disability - $$$”. Does having this on paystub impacts anything related to H-1b transfer process?
