Is it necessary to be fluent in English for engineer
to get an engineering jobs in the US?
How do you guys think about it?
It is obvious that, fluent english does help getting a decent job and I do know that, I am curious about minimum level required to work as engineer in US
I do have US citizenship so visa won't be a problem and I think my engineering skill is good enough to work(I don't have to work at very top company), but I am not sure whether my English can be a problem or not.
I attended schools in US about 2.5 years when I was young, had no problem in casual conversations and educations(till freshman in high school) but I have no clue about working in the States, since I never worked there.
Any comments will be great, thanks
(My dream is to work at Mathworks!)

1) You will feel tired end of the day, specially during your first year
2) You will not be the same person anymore, and take years to reshape yourself. Your sense of humor won't work in English, and it is somewhat frustrating thinking a joke in your native language and not being able to use that in English. Not only the words, but all cultural context that is missed.
3) You will be slow, since you are translating your thoughts. So in a debate, you can be easily beaten just because you cannot organize your thoughts at the same speed as before. That feels even worse if you are an extrovert, because you lose a previous ability.
However if you are determined, you can easily overcome these difficulties. It will probably never be same as before, but it will be good enough to stop making a huge difference after a while.

English is also a language of commerce so it won't hurt to invest in yourself through an ESL course so you can overcome this self imposed liability (not that it is in my opinion)
