Do you guys ask about WLB after receiving an offer, and if so, how do you phrase it?

I understand this isn’t something you bring up during the interview but after an offer I would like to know.

I bring this up during the interview. I rather not waste my time.

It absolutely is something you bring up during the interview, what are you talking about?

  • During my last job searches, I always asked about WLB and remote options. The one previous time I didn’t ask until after accepting the offer, the hiring manager said since my two PT colleagues were remote, they were expecting this FT position to be onsite. Some days I sat in office alone. I was miserable.

There’s nothing wrong about asking this during the 1:1 or panel interview. Remember you need to interview them to see if they fit your life.

I think you can still reach out to the hiring manager even after accepting and ask about WLB. How many hours do the team typically work? What is the PTO policy? What does leadership do to make promote wellbeing and prevent employee burnout? All valid questions especially in this day and age.

    Good luck!
