Saw this article (https://www.cnbc.com/2020/04/03/goldman-sachs-ceo-remote-work-policies-could-attract-new-employees.html) and was curious what people at Goldman thought of it. I was under the impression that prior to coronavirus, people weren't given a laptop because they wanted all bodies to be in the office for "security" reasons.

Will WFH become an option for tech workers after quarantine?

Ex employee here. Goldman use this citrus system that can remote login to the company virtual desktop from anywhere. So you are basically screen sharing with super high latency. Same goes with your office desktop. You never own a physical environment. So everything is super slow.

Dude what does Fortune 500 even mean? Work for a tech company please. You are wasting your life. And please don’t consider slang as a programming language.

    • Everyone has their opinions. If you're happy with what you're doing, that's fine. Good for you. But don't turn around and assume you know everything about another company, because that's simply not possible. GS is not all slang, and I don't even work in that side of the firm.

Not a tech company. They had a dress code for technical roles until recently.
