White Plains or Stamford. Both are nice, relatively affordable (to nyc) areas and very commutable to Armonk/North Castle as well as NYC.
Stamford is great and pretty cheap compared to NY.
White plains is a wonderful option. My family and I have been living here for a year. It is perfect for families , okish for single ppl
Try Red Hook, Poughkeepsie... That area is quite a bit closer than Stamford, CT
Poughkeepsie is a little over an hour to their location(s) in Armonk/North Castle without traffic. Red Hook is almost an hour and a half away without traffic. Stamford is less than 30 mins. All of that said, if OP intends on renting, a place OP would actually want to inhabit in Poughkeepsie will cost the same or more than good places in Stamford.
