can anyone explain how the Amazon code reviews are like when you submit your code? applying for SDE 1 just want to know how the process is. my current company doesnt rlly give good feekback on your code
Amazon Prime subscribed SDEs get same day code reviews while others usually have to wait a week and only after they have committed atleast 35 lines.
We complain about meaningless things like whitespace and don’t pay attention to the actual functionality.
It really depends on the reviewers. Sometimes if you’re lucky, you get some very valuable comments. However, it might happen that you get minor code style related comments (which is still valuable for me) or even none. Generally speaking, Amazon is a huge company with some amazingly skillful engineers. If you’re looking for feedback from the right person, you will always have it.
As with most things in tech companies, this varies heavily depending on your org and team.
You probably even need someone to review your blind post
