whole foods is a criminal origination. They literally take an item, call it "organic" and charge absurd prices for it. Google gives this supermarket a "$$$". I assumed it would be filled with old people who have money to burn. However, majority of the people were young (20~ish). This was in Tribeca NYC, so unless the young people around here are trust fund kids, they is no reason for them to be shopping here. A subway ride (2.75$) can take them to an affordable supermarket in a matter of minutes. Or just shop online and and shipping is usually free for order over 50$. Why are these young (mostly white from my observation) people throwing away their money. Also, do you go to whole foods? Edit: just to clarify, i was not suggesting whole foods is criminal in that, their food is not organic. I am saying they are criminal in the same way apple is criminal for charging 1000$ for a phone. You can get an android phone with the same specs for a fraction of the price. Similarly, you can get the same "organic" food in other places for a fraction of the price
U have any proof for the organic thing?
I was there for dinner a few days ago. It was just a matter of convenience. I think it's a new gay pick up place. Never had so many strange vibes from guys there while I was eating my sandwich
LOL you’re on the menu as part of the sandwich.
Were you eating a banana?
Can we start calling it AMAZON WHOLE FOODS.
The Walmart Jet associate asks a good question. Most subsidiaries don’t refer to themselves by their parent company’s name so why would Whole Foods be any different? Can you imagine calling it Facebook Instagram, Alphabet Google YouTube, Amazon Zappos, General Motors Cruise, Disney ESPN, Disney Fox, Disney Marvel, or Disney Lucasfilm?
Oh shit you mean like Airbnb luxe or Airbnb experiences or Airbnb plus. Or like google mail or google plus. 😂. Or how Instagram app now says by Facebook. You mean like that 😂😂. Or how amazon calls it amazon web services and fulfilled by amazon, amazon prime. 😂😂😂😂
If you go to whole foods in Miami you will find the clientele is mostly Latin. I don't make much money but shop at whole foods because their food is of good quality. If you cannot differentiate between good quality food and cannot afford it then just don't shop there. Why you so mad tho. Mind your own business
I was curious and asked a question. "Mind your own business" can literally be said to anything, and is a cop out. If someone was getting scammed and buying google play cards to give to the "IRS", sure one can "mind their own business" but it would not be the right thing to do. I can differentiate between the quality of groceries and can assure you that Chinese supermarkets are just as good and only a fraction of the price. To me this is like starbucks; you could get coffee for cheaper and of the same quality for a fraction of the price.
I see you could not address the fact that you post was racist and bigoted. The point is you have to start tolerating people that don't think like you do. not everybody that disagrees with you is a rich white person
Produce is overpriced and being in California there are plenty of other places to buy excellent (even organic) produce (most Mexican and middle eastern markets). Outside of produce, they carry some very unique things and not everything is a rip-off. I will say though if u can find it in sprouts or TJ, it'll be cheaper than whole foods.
+1 on ethnic grocery stores. Its half the cost and tastes better
In California, every where is expensive. Ralph, CVS, Pavilion are all as expensive as WF. So I just shop at WF
Cvs is a scam too
How so?
You should recommend BuzzFeedVideos YouTube channel to shoot an episode of Is It Worthy- Overly priced Blueberry from Wholefoods (5.99$) vs Cheaper berry from Grocery Outlet (.99).
that series is so trash lamo. 1000$ cake vs 99 cent hostess cupcake. Which is better? Geeze, such a hard question, watch the video to find out
20 million subscribers of that channel may not share the same feelings as you do.
The reality is that on a per-pound basis, organic produce is actually cheaper at Whole Foods than at Trader Joe's, Safeway and other competitors while also being of better quality. TJ's usually prices produce per item. I've weighed the items, and their organic produce is more expensive than at Whole Foods (and of inferior quality). That said, wild frozen fish and organic cheese and meat is sometimes cheaper at TJ's. If you can't do basic math, you might prefer organic produce at TJ's. Most of the Chinese/Mexican/Middle Eastern markets don't sell organic produce at lower prices than Whole Foods, and when they do, it's of worse quality. TL;DR: Organic produce at WF costs the same or less than at competitors, and is of superior quality.
This is true in Florida as well
The produce is the bait. Look our produce is cheap, come on by. They know they will make back the money when you decide to by other stuff. It is like mobile games, free to play but it will have dark patterns to get you to spend money.
I can only find in wholefoods all the products I like at the same place: Cheese of quality from various countries, oysters, quality sea scallops for salads, Duck pâté, Saucisson sec Barolo, Prosciutto San Daniele and other products. I can’t find that in Publix or Walmart where I live.
Can i ask, are you wealth with money to burn?
Buying good and quality products and diversifying the food I eat is a direct investment in my health which I consider more important than anything else.
A 2.75 ride can get them to an affordable supermarket, so I would think they can afford that place and prefer it. I have no idea why you had to throw in race into it. I would think it was more of a rip off, if there were no other options and lacked competition.
