How dare people travel in December when you want your paperwork! So rude of them! I’d rather work for a company that didn’t give me time off in December.

    Wait, I do.

Lol that’s not my grievance. It’s the fact that they keep telling me a few days we’ll get it to you. They haven’t said he’s on vacation, just that he’s traveling. Could be work or whatever.

Heh. Sorry OP just feeling a little salty. I am transitioning myself and recruiter warned me of holiday travel and slower than usual timelines for everything.

Like others said keep looking, but traveling is a valid reason. My managers boss is out for the rest of the month so if someone got hired they'd have to wait until next year for her to sign the paperwork and the process to move on.

Keep looking because it's always good to have competing offers. It is actually a valid reason btw, lots of people are out of the office during December. It is the slowest month of the year for recruiting for a reason.

If the guys is traveling, it sounds like a legit reason. What turns you off about it?

But yea, always good to keep looking just in case

Just a lack of communication unless I reached out. We determined a start date but now will have to be moved out since I haven’t told my current employer yet. I won’t inform them until I’ve signed.

Why would such a common thing turn you off a whole company?

They’re traveling dude. It’s December. Lots of folks are in and out of the office. Don’t submit notice until you’ve signed and had the background check completed.

Took me 2 weeks personally but the recruiter kept in constant communication with me

Depends on many factors - finance folks approving numbers - they need to be available- other approvals required and given this is holiday time it’s always going to take a longer time
