Hello Blind community,
Next month I am joining Amazon, Bangalore as SDE-1. I was very enthusiast and excited, as I got this offer irrespective of my current TC which is 5L and my University.
But after seeing reviews on Blind about Amazon, I am litterally scared. WLB, Pip culture, LP, less growth, all these seems very problamatic.
Can you guys please boost my confidence by mentioning some nice experiences at Amazon?

Amazon is fast paced. This ends up being more of a positive than negative for many SDEs at Amazon. The ones that don’t like that pace either find a slower team or leave to other companies.
Regarding growth, you will learn a lot and fast.
My suggestion is don’t bias your thinking by what you are reading on blind. Make up your own assessment once you start.
Best of luck.
I also joined Amazon India recently and I was in same situation as you. My TC also increased by 300%.
It has been 5 months here, things are not that good not that bad. But good thing is high tc, amazon is still a great company to add on your resume ( already recruiters from google, indeed, intuit are contacting me on LinkedIn). So if you don't have any other better offer, join it :)
If you do get PIP-ed, please do your best to blame yourself. Killing yourself might be an option as well to save Amazon the severance package. Amazon will appreciate it and use the same resources to pip more teammates faster.
