What advice you will give to someone who wants to move to Bay Area? Looking for better TC and social life.

    If you like competition .. you will love it . It is cut throat .. but Bay Area lacks diversity .. it’s all tech zombies who earn big bucks with low quality of life.. driving fancy cars but crippling from inside ..

      @microsoft Can’t imagine buying a house paying more than 1mn. A price of something varies from person to person based on their affordability. So a family making 350+ in a LCOL area is much wealthier than a family making 700+ in Bay area?

      Idk, here in the east bay I hop on my mountain bike and ride 5 minutes to sick trails the likes of which would take hours to get to in most other parts of the country. And I do it in the middle of January. There’s something to be said for that, if you’re into more than just flexing your leased Macan.

    Op think twice before moving to bay area. Once you have family and kids it becomes hard to move. Its very expensive here.

    Great TC atrocious social life. I think I could probably move back home to NYC and not lose any pay with how fast other cities are growing their tech industries outside of the Bay, and I'll have the best night life in the US back on top of that.

    Normal things are really expensive over here.

    Buying house is really expensive. Hiring a house cleaner is impossible. Cat mechanics will scam you.
