i accepted an offer with a company im really excited about. however, i still have other interviews scheduled that i dont really want to do because i dont want to have to schedule an onsite when im starting a new role because using PTO would look extremely sus. however these companies are microsoft and pinterest. i want to apply in the future but right now i just am burned out and couldnt care less about another interview. how do i cancel these without pissing off the recruiter and having them put a note in my profile? i want to professionally say “im tired of interviewing and got a great offer and want to get an offer from you in the future”? can i get some help?
Just be honest and polite. This happens.
“I would like to cancel my upcoming onsite as I just accepted a position with another team. <insert details about how well your interviewing process was w this company and thank the recruiter>. I hope to stay in touch for any future opportunities.”
One of them is a phone screen in 30 minutes though
That’s fine just be sure to thank the company/recruiter for their time
Whats the great offer tc breakdown?
Be honest. Tell the recruiter that you have just accepted an offer, and you would like to cancel the interview so as to not waste their time (and yours). Say that you’d gladly interview with them if the circumstances were different, or perhaps in the future. Recruiters understand that they are competing against other companies for labor. As long as you act with professional courtesy, they won’t hold it against you.
Where did you accept
What were your offers? YOE? Location?
Just say you accepted another position. They won't care and certainly won't put a negative note in your file.
If you are interested in Pinterest and Microsoft, go ahead and interview. Don't prepare anymore. Confidence of already accepting a great offer would help you clear those interview. Accept them if offer is way better than current. It's not a big deal to renege.
