I am planning to do long term passive investing in a diversified portfolio. I would like to use a platform that might be a little expensive but at least safe, reliable, and well designed with a good user experience. As they say if the product is free then you are the product, which I think is true of Robinhood. I have a betterment account but don’t want to pay unnecessary fees to robo-advisors. I am fine with doing some basic research and investing in diversified portfolios myself. I am thinking of Etrade and wealthfront, but perhaps there are better platforms out there?

It offers a ton of customisation and you can also manage multiple accounts all very easily.
If anything, you could see those fees more as a piece of mind in that your positions were executed and routed when you needed them, and that the service has had no issues or caused any heart palpitations due to security breaches.
For the majority of RH users this isn’t and hasn’t been the case. Thus, they are more of the product.
