It works with those providers, but isn't platform agnostic. They have to extend their services to work with new / different cloud providers. So let's say Meta suddenly unveils a SaaS suite. It wouldn't work with Datadog until the integrations were built.
Also, it does a lot, but mainly it's intent is to connect disparate data systems into a unified view for telemetry first, and I think they offer lots of ability to affect those systems via datadog as well now. But I think originally it was all about unifying the telemetry
I agree with you @OP, so I interviewed super hard and tripled my comp by leaving to Big Tech lol. I'm enjoying it way more than I expected, I was coasting before but now I'm actually learning / being challenged AND making way more.
