Stats programmer at biotech or biostatistician at CRO
I got two internship offers
-Stats programmer intern at a biotech
•Amazing work life balance, cool culture
•In the past, 2/5 of the candidate able to extend their internship/transit to full-time
•work from home
•responsibility is very ‘niche’
Perform review for FDA submission and check/review clinical data and format on SAS
-Biostatistician intern at CRO (contracted research organization)
•not sure about work-life balance; ppl complained about 45 hrs on Glassdoor
•most interns transited to full-time positions afterwards
• need to go into office everyday, commute is 45mins, I’ll stay on the train for 25mins no transfer
•responsibility covers a wide range of work in biostatistics, I think I may learn so much more here
FYI, I am a master of public health student with a focus in biostatistics. Bachelor in Management information systems. ~2yoe. Do not plan on doing phd, career path is a mixed of biostatistics/DS/DA(I low-key afraid of competition Ian DS/DA because my degree isn’t technical and don’t have experience /enough knowledge in ML)
