Facebook has had serious problems over its lifetime:

- The way they handle personal information (stolen by Cambridge Analytica) [1]
- They try to collect as much information as possible, including your phone calls and text messages [2]
- They sell personal information to other companies [3]
- Their platform was used to influence elections: Brexit, US 2016
- Their platform was used to incite genocide in Myanmar [4]
- They tuned news feed to prioritize posts that people engage the most with by exploiting our deepest emotions such as fear and anger - which made our society extremely polarized [5]

Their CEO:
- Disrespects people and their privacy - said “People just submitted it. Dumb fucks.” and also “if you ever need info about anyone at Harvard - just ask” [6]
- Has no vision - says ”[I am motivated by] building things that change the world in a way it needs to be changed“ [11]
- Has no responsibility - “A lot of times people are just too careful. I think it’s more useful to make things happen and apologize later” [9]
- Ignored internal studies that brought up issues with news feed. [7]
- Said “this could be good for the world, but it’s not good for us” while discussing possibilities of existence of other social networks [8]
- Lies - “We are not gonna share people’s information except with the people they asked for to be shared” [10]

Do you trust Facebook to be one of the world’s biggest platforms to share your personal data and to get news from?
