Somewhat happy to see people are not hung up on Cupertino schools either. Where is the slow down/crash people?
the highest offer on this one was close to 3.9m. Seller chose the second highest in the end. I know this because I was one of them putting down an offer.
So it’s a cash buyer?
Interesting!
Read in another thread this buyer got fleeced by their agent and paid $700k over second highest bid. Probably an Indian arranged marriage couple. They settle for the first thing they see.
Throwing shade I see
Spoken like someone who lost too many bids to the said demography.
Insane! NY is certainly a HCOL area and 4mil will get you a McMansion anywhere in southern NY. Even in Manhattan you'd get a hell of a condo in a high rise (2500+ sq ft). Don't know how you do it out there in the west coast!
We work in tech
This is nuts. Rent it for $5K or refi it at $19K.
Why even buy at all?
This was sold a month ago. What’s your point. Market has been changing dramatically every week.
We will know after a month! I’d be happy if market cools down but not seeing any such signs right now. Inventory still continues to be low in the Bay Area.
No sighs? How about longer pending days, and more price drops?
3.7 mil and I’d at least expect a bit of space between me and my neighbors but it’s almost like they share a damn wall
$1.1M over listing. What’s so unique about this home? $4K per month PT. A purchase that keeps on owning. What if there is crash like 2000, and 2008?
50k/year in property taxes. Ridiculous
The closing costs on it are enough to make me sick..
Real winners here are the real estate agents pushing their customers to bid over 500k+ to drive up the prices. These guys are making 50k+ per month easily these last few years thanks to the market in the Bay. Time to jump ship from SWE to real estate.
That ship has sailed
3.7M for a shack built in the 1970s. Literally insane. Time to GTFO of the bay.
This was not a shack. It was a very nicely done home. Rare to find such homes in the bay. But agree that 3.7 is still pretty steep
Nope, it’s a shack. 3.7M anywhere else in the world would get you a literal mansion
