New college Grad was hired to do iOS engineer by an established company in the Dallas area but they haven't given me a Mac and have told me to work on android. I have an electrical engineering degree, should I look for other opportunities or try and stick it out?
yes, if you were hired to do one thing and want to do iOS, then you should consider options, though picking up Android development is not terrible.
It hasn't been to bad and I've done some android before and I had planned to diversify my skill set and become proficient in both iOS and android development. They haven't give me a project yet just busy work and I've been here for 7 weeks now.
talk to your manager and ask for project work. if they don't make headway, consider your options. 7 weeks is still new to a company, so speaking up and saying you want something would not hurt you. if you don't get something then, start looking and just keep the lights on at your current gig
Can you Elaborate?
I would leave. iOS dev is completely different from android. I love opening Xcode. V9 is the bomb. Work on stuff you like. Don't get pushed into tech that doesn't interest you. I just got put on a Linux team and hate it. I'm looking for iOS gigs.
Yeah I love doing iOS dev but I want to improve so I'm gonna thought it out for a little bit longer at least until the end of the year.
In my part of the world ... freshers are not choosers. You leave and Your new company can put you into something like Testing or QA of IOS app. What then? Here ... If you are getting to build something from scratch even though it's on android ... it's still good because you are learning engineering mobile apps. You can work here and gain some exposure and then make a jump in an year or two. Keep yourself up to date on IOS so that you don't lose touch once you are ready to move out.

How to save India from destruction?
Are you saying they haven't given you a laptop at all or gave you a PC instead of a Mac Book? Work on Android... as in develop android product instead of iOS product?
Yeah they've given me a PC and told me to work on developing a product in android. They haven't given me a solid project I've been kind of floating working on different things in Java and Postgres but none of the things I've worked on has gone anywhere just busy work.
They could be refining product intent /strategy, etc. Does the equivalent exist on Android already? If your peers use MacBooks, maybe they have a procurement delay? Some companies treat Mac procurement differently as an exception process. You should definitely ask.
