I’m a software engineer on the web side of things & my son has shown interest in iOS development. He is thinking of cloning apps like facebook, tinder and pinterest. What should he learn & what versions? Seems like Swift > React Native. Any opinions on this? Any specific libraries or tools? I’m not an iOS expert so would rather take advice from those in the field. Thanks in advance. TC: ~500k #engineering #software #swe #ios

Hacking with Swift’s 100 Days of Swift (different from 100 Days of SwiftUI) is a great resource for newcomers. https://www.hackingwithswift.com/100
Thanks! Is this up to date with the newest releases of Swift and other tech?
I think so but am not 100% sure. I’ve been going through it recently and have not had any issues. I do know they’re currently updating the SwiftUI version for iOS 15.
Im hiring ios swift back end devs for a new org i joined. Known brand. Pay is good. DM me
Learn UIKit for a job in the next 5 years, learn SwiftUI for a job after that. If learning UIKit, do it without storybords. Combine for networking, steep learning curve, but will be the standard. Main pattern to learn: MVVM
