Wife is currently pregnant and her company just underwent an acquisition which likely would result in layoffs. She’s concerned about have a gap in her resume but also don’t feel it’s right to find another job only to go on mat leave soon after(most likely won’t qualified for paid leave either)

Even though they are hard to find, there are some companies that offer insurance and parental leave day one. I was offered a position at my company and told them I would need a week off when my wife gave birth a month after the start date. They told me the insurance and parental leave started day one and to enjoy the time with family.
