I have offers from both. Which one should I go for? This is for a PM role. TC: $220k for both.

Biggest challenges Atlassian is facing? Is the culture as good as they claim it to be with all the growth and HQ being so so far away???

    • Biggest challenge would be migrating all the legacy on-prem customers to the cloud. That’s our big push right now but some companies refuse to change.

Culture is indeed as good as advertised, the average employee is very chill and smart, and the company benefits are stellar.

Being fully remote is challenging at times but before COVID teams would gather in person a few times a year and that really improved the camaraderie. Plans are to start that up soon (my team is meeting in either April or May).

Asana is one of the weirdest places I've worked at, in a good way. I've only been here three months so I feel like I haven't fully drank the koolaid, but the wlb and culture are pretty good. Benefits wise though, what stuck out to me was the lack of 401k matching.
That said, I wanted to specifically work for Asana because I think the product has great potential and it has barely put a whisper of a dent on its market penetration.

  • The lack of Asana employees comment on this is a sign that you should join Atlassian.

Doesn’t every product manager read Cracking the Product Manager Interview? I’m surprised Asana doesn’t have a good rep amongst PMs given one of our coworkers co-authored that book. You’ll be working with people who changed the entire PM landscape at Asana.

  • I don’t know much but based off of asana’s stock issues and atlassian *possibly* being a bit more stable (from my understanding), my vote goes atlassian
