I just graduated with a 3.449 GPA (tentative, but I’m pretty sure that’s my final GPA).

I had some trouble with college at the beginning due to a traumatic brain injury and an undiagnosed case of ADHD. To make up for my prior poor performance, I worked my ass off Junior and Senior year to get straight A’s.

Now that I have a 3.449 GPA, I read that you shouldn’t put your GPA on your resume unless it is a 3.5 or higher. I want to put my Major GPA on my resume because it was a 3.9+, but I don’t think I can put my Major GPA on my resume without my cumulative GPA.

Can I round a 3.449 up to a 3.5? Thanks! #polleverywhere #polls

    3.449 rounds to 3.45, 3.45 rounds to 3.5, so technically it's not a lie.

But people don't generally round their GPAs lol

But also lie if it gets you interviews, just make sure to interview at a 3.5 gpa level

I do not make final hiring decisions, but I do interview new engineers regularly and recommend to management whom to hire or not. I can say GPA is not even a factor in what we are measuring. It is all about the technical interview and how you manage yourself. Being honest is a good position to take. That being said this is a reasonable rounding question, and 0.051 is not really a big difference.

And 3.5 is usually the cutoff for a lot of jobs, hence why the round up to 3.5
