I am a product manager. Can you pls help me with my Answer: I have been able to stretch myself and deliver a lot at Amazon. However, everyday night calls with India are taking a toll on the family and multiple reorgs / manager changes are not allowing me to grow. Can you please help fine tune my answer? TC: 308
I agree with Dell; I would not mention this at all. Emphasize opportunities at MS that are currently unavailable to you at Amazon. Or something you admire about the company...something that inspires you.
Microsoft is for retirement plan. Ex- Microsoft here
How about this revised answer: Amazon has been a great experience. In the last 3 years I had a measurable impact. From my friends, I have heard great things about the Microsoft culture and this role will allow me to stretch myself further, and grow.
Solid start. Then add more specificity. What great things? How will the role enable OP to stretch him/herself?
Yes exactly, if you want to mention a company’s culture or values in an on-site, you should know what it is and have an example of how you’ll uphold it and how it’ll help you grow, or why it’s a draw for you
IMO, I would make it more about the opportunities I stand to gain with Microsoft something like the culture, career growth, companies support, the technology or product resonates more with me, rather than making it about Amazon (like the Indian time calls). Imagine this, what if the role you are going for in Microsoft has the same challenge?! You shot yourself. You could also complement it with location and tie it your family
