What's Facebook Bootcamp? I heard something that sounded like it was a test after being accepted which you could fail and then not actually get to work at Facebook. Any truth to that?

If you are an experienced hire, bootcamp is great: you get 6-12 weeks to ramp up where no one cares whether you're operating like a new grad or a 20 year veteran tech lead. All you need to do is focus on learning what you'll need to know and on building relationships with people who can help you once you start on a team.
When you find a team you like, you join them and start working for that team. Specialists hired for a certain team usually don't spend time during the team selection period. They usually go sit with the team that hired them as early as possible and begin integrating with the team while in bootcamp.
From what they told us, it's pretty hard to fail bootcamp. There's a lot of resources to help those struggling. And there's always a lot of teams looking for new hires so it's unlikely you can't find a team to join.
I love that Bootcamp exists. And no it's not a test.
