is certification more valuable for applying for jobs as project manager?

I am applying for project manager profile and wanted to know if I should focus on certifications like Tableau Desktop or PMP etc

Certifications mean nothing without experience to parallel it. Otherwise people would cert up and slide right in.

Not really, AWS certs are a huge, hot commodity. Resume gold, literally

I’d say maybe agile certifications

FYI: You can't qualify for a PMP without a few years of PM experience.

You can get the PMI CAPM though.

Certified Scrum Master, Agile PM will go a longer way in software PM roles than a PMP. Then you also need to know the domain and tech area that you’re looking in. If Analytics, then Tableau, SQL skills will help. If in app development, then knowing the SDLC, micro-services and distributed app concepts etc etc. PMs without tech knowledge are dime a dozen

PMP covers a lot of outdated processes that don’t really apply to a PM role in tech (assuming that’s what you’re after). I’d focus more on agile and even AWS
