I have seen personally that big brand companies lowball candidates into saying u will get good brand name. This doesn't happen to everyone, but If they are big brand shouldn't they pay better than average ?
If you have a situation where you got 30% higher salary in a company with no brand ( stable finance of course ) vs a company that is of high brand like PayPal ( since it happened to me) pays 30% lower than ur other offer. What would you do ?
Of course considering team / wlb / non monetary things match up too.
