Just like a lot of blind, my stay in the USA is temporary and tied to my employment. In some ways I am lucky that my country does not have a massive wait time for green cards but the process still takes a good 3 years. I am lucky to be a joining MSFT which does this kind of stuff really fast.
That being said, seeing 2020 layoffs and now some growth companies cut, I have developed fear of layoff and deportation.

I have come to the realization that I can't control economy, interest rates, inflation or what Jerome Powell has in mind. I can however perform as best to my abilities and be leetcode ready. If I lose my job, either I will find a new one in 60 days or I won't. Going back to my country will suck but it is life. If opportunity arises, I am sure eventually I will find a job in Canada or America in a couple of years.

I may have to join banana factory in Europe and L1 into the US, but that is possible.
Can anyone from Amazon confirm that they have banana stands in Europe? Or is that privilege only for Seattle employees?
