Does Intel support and sponsor spouse based internal transfers from India to US and on which visa? Does anyone know the procedure or has taken this route?

PS:
- I work at Intel, India and my fiance works at Intel, US.
- Do not wish to go via H4 EAD route since that would mean being jobless in the US for almost a year

Yes, Intel supports it but not encourage it. You need to get a buy in from your management , then get a offer from same group or different group based on the openings. Your management needs to be aligned with your plan as internal transfer requires approval from your BU , whether you are moving in same or different groups.

      OP
Is there a possibility that spouse based internal transfer is rejected by Intel HR/BU?

Chances are less for rejection , spouse based internal transfer is the strongest reason one can provide. If your manager is supportive then it would be relatively easy for you.

I have seen a large number of L1 visa holders transfer from India to USA...so assuming it isn't or wasn't too hard atleast a year back...

Not sure about Intel but Qualcomm surely does, you should probably switch.
