What do you look for in a system design interview?

Wanted to know from people interviewing candidates for EM/SDM position about what do they expect in a systems design interview?

Are you looking for more depth or breadth?
How do you judge a candidate who has more knowledge about the components of the system rather than DevOps stuff (load balancer, docker, k8s, etc)?
